What is Stereoscopic 3D?

Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) imaging is a technique used to create or enhance the illusion of depth in an image. By presenting two offset images separately to each eye, S3D creates the perception of three-dimensional (3D) depth. This effect can be achieved either by using specialized hardware, such as stereoscopic glasses or a head-mounted display, or by displaying two separate images on a single screen using various autostereoscopic display technologies.

The most common use of S3D technology is in entertainment, particularly in movies and video games. However, it is also used for other applications such as scientific visualization, medical imaging, and architectural rendering.
