What is Specular?
Specular is an important component of 3D visualization. It helps to create the illusion of three-dimensionality by providing light and shadow effects. Without specular, objects would appear flat and two-dimensional.
Specular is created by shining a light on an object at an angle. The light reflects off the surface of the object and creates a highlight. This highlight is known as the specular reflection.
The angle of incidence (angle at which the light hits the surface) and the angle of reflection (angle at which the light is reflected) are important factors in determining the intensity of the specular reflection. A larger angle between the two will create a brighter highlight, while a smaller angle will create a dimmer one.
